The random power failures experienced by Peter in Spider-Man 2 also happened in his animated series, but the payoff was completely different.

Spider-Man 2's storyline of Peter Parker's powers failing took a very different turn in Spider-Man: The Animated Series. Following 2002's Spider-Man, 2004's Spider-Man 2 saw Peter Parker struggling to balance his life as a superhero with his college life and romance with Mary Jane Watson .

With the help of Kraven the Hunter and the Punisher, Dr, Kafka is able to reverse Peter's transformation, but the mutation remains in his genes with the possibility of Peter one day turning back into the Man-Spider. An encounter with the Vulture in a later episode leads him to take on Peter's Man-Spider mutation after he drains Peter's youth from him, but Dr.

Could The Man-Spider Ever Appear In A Live-Action Spider-Man Movie? Peter Parker morphing into the ferocious Man-Spider as early in his big-screen career as Spider-Man 2 could admittedly have been a rather jarring story turn, but there is far more potential for the Man-Spider story to happen after the long history of the Spider-Man franchise.

Indeed, the possibility of both Maguire and Garfield making further Spider-Man movies in their respective universes post-No Way Home seems high after the film's success. With the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man having just made his big-screen debut two years earlier, Spider-Man 2 probably was not the right time to introduce the Man-Spider storyline from Spider-Man: The Animated Series cinematically.
