After losing their home in the Palisades fire, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are seeking damages from the city of Los Angeles.

Janet Pratt, Spencer’s mother, is also listed as a plaintiff in the lawsuit; according to an Instagram Story posted by his younger sister, Stephanie Pratt, the Palisades fire also destroyed their parents’ home within hours of Heidi and Spencer’s loss.
alleges that the devastation that rocked the Palisades neighborhood was “an inescapable and unavoidable consequence” of the city’s and LADWP’s mismanagement of the area’s water supply. The filing points to this event, as well as the Palisades’ Santa Ynez Reservoir, which the suit claims has been “out of commission since February 2024.” The empty reservoir was one in a long list ofinfrastructure projects that environmental experts believe could have saved at least a few homes from the fire, according to theMontag and Pratt are suing for an undisclosed amount, which is intended to cover the cost of repairs to their property, loss of wages and earning capacity, and emotional distress. So, I don’t think we would’ve shared anything vulnerable,” Pratt said. “This is how we already made money before. That’s our way of life.
