Winter Storm Brings Snow and Reduced Speeds to Major Roadways in Southern New Jersey

Speed restrictions are in place on several major roadways in southern New Jersey as the first big winter storm of the season sweeps across the state. A 45 mph speed restriction is in place on the New Jersey Turnpike from the Delaware Memorial Bridge in Salem County to north of Interchange 8 in South Brunswick Township to allow for salting operations, the turnpike authority reported.

Speed restrictions of 45 mph are in place on various sections of the Garden State Parkway for salting and snow-clearing operations. Atlantic, Cumberland and Salem counties are expected to get 6 to 8 inches, while Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Ocean counties could see varying amounts between 2 and 6 inches. The rest of the state will see a dusting to an inch. Snow should wind down by this evening for most of the state, though areas in South Jersey will see continued snowfall into the night
