The Palatka mayor and city commissioners called a special commission meeting Monday morning to discuss City ManagerSome of the commissioners and the mayor were concerned about who was approving his time off.
The word 'absenteeism' was used during the meeting. Bell took offense to the word and said a false narrative was created about how he was taking time off. "I think that I'm being asked to give explanations about personal aspects of my life because of the assumption by some is that there must be something illicit that I'm doing. And that's just not the fact, that's not the case," Bell explained.
