AN unlikely cookie is making rounds on social media as the New York Times shared its recipe on its website on Saturday.
'These adobo chocolate chip cookies combine sweet, salty, savory, sour, and umami,' explained the Twitter description of the New York Times.Filipino American food blogger Abi Balingit, author of the recently-released cookbook Mayumu: Filipino American Desserts Remixed, crafted this recipe.
'Whoever had this idea, you are banned from our household for eternity,' tweeted @dayawism.'What kind of monstrosity of the adobo is this?!' wrote @insatiableblue.'Gosh, now I understand how Italians feel about bastardized pizzas,' wrote @ourguyingeneva.Others defended the fusion dessert.'There's nothing wrong with this,' tweeted @theosanti. 'It's a chocolate chip recipe not a f***ing adobo. No one is serving that with rice. Filipinos are annoying.
