Giit ng lider ng Kamara de Representantes, desperado lang si Duterte na ilayo ang atensyon mula sa kaniyang confidential funds na iniimbestigahan ng mga kongresista.
“Let us address another serious matter. The Vice President's unfounded and baseless accusations that I am plotting to destroy her because of alleged political ambitions for 2028 elections. My colleagues, these accusations are not only untrue. They are a desperate attempt to distract from the real issues at hand,” ani Romualdez.
Una rito, sinabi ni Duterte na pinagpaplanuhan umano ni Romualdez na ipapatay siya. Idinagdag ng pangalawang pangulo na may kinausap siya na kung may mangyari sa kaniya ay dapat din nitong patayin si Romualdez, pati sina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., at First Lady Liza Marcos.Sa kaniyang talumpati, sinabi ni Romualdez sa mga kapuwa kongresista na, “ are an attempt to erode public trust in this institution, to sow division, and to create chaos.
"Kung wala kang itinatago bakit hindi sagutin ang mga tanong. Karapatan ng taumbayan na malaman ang katotohanan," dagdag pa ni Romualdez, na binatikos din ang hindi umano paggalang ni Duterte sa protocol at seguridad ng Kamara nang magtungo ang bise presidente sa kapulungan para sa samahan ang kaniyang chief of staff na si Atty. Zuleika Lopez, na nakadetine roon matapos i-contempt ng mga kongresista.
