Investigators are currently only focused on a single suspect.SPD Deputy Chief Andre Sayles said investigators processed digital and forensic evidence and worked on the case with partners at the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Mayor Wilson attended the press conference and stressed the need for gun violence prevention. She said she attended a vigil back in January and saw the trauma that gun violence has caused the community. Barnes said there is still a lot more to be done in connection with the case, but said the victims may have known the suspect. Anyone with information about the shooting or who has video evidence is asked to call SPD at 206-233-5000. Chief Barnes thanked the detectives who worked on the case and said extra patrols will remain in Rainier Beach throughout the rest of the school year to continue to foster trust with community members and students.January's shooting occurred at a bus stop right in front of the South Shore PreK-8 school, and blocks from Rainier Beach High School.as 17-year-old Traveiah Houfmuse and 18-year-old Tyjon Malik Stewart.
