Spark Energy has concluded its 2024 Arapaima field program, identifying eight pegmatite trends spanning a combined strike length of 27.2 kilometers. The exploration company, focused on discovering battery metals in Brazil's renowned Lithium Valley, successfully completed its first on-site exploration campaign at its 64,359-hectare Arapaima Lithium project in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Samples collected have been sent to SGS laboratory for analysis of lithium and multi-element composition, including rare earth elements. Results are anticipated to be released shortly. The exploration efforts have significantly advanced Spark's understanding of the geology within its extensive tenement package. Despite the presence of regolith and recent sedimentary deposits covering large portions of the area, the team has identified and mapped several significant erosional windows revealing weathered-saprolitized granite intruded by pegmatites. These areas, now prioritized as key targets, exhibit promising geological characteristics. The Arapaima project is primarily underlain by the two-mica G2 granite, hosting multiple pegmatite bodies exceeding 5 meters in thickness. Other zones are characterized by the G4 super suite – biotite granite, which displays multiple, predominantly narrow pegmatite bodies. Two structural trends have been identified at the project: a northeast-southwest trend and a northwest-southeast trend. Notably, a 5.3-kilometer trend featuring weathered two-mica granite intruded by pegmatite has been mapped, correlating with a prominent thorium response observed in regional radiometric images. It is important to note that many of the identified pegmatite bodies, like their host granites, have been extensively weathered
