Elon Musk’s Space X has announced a maiden crewed mission to explore the uncharted territories of our planet: the polar regions.
The first crew quartet is set to launch into polar orbit aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon atop a Falcon 9 rocket from Kennedy Space Center, Florida late this year. All four are fascinated by extreme polar conditions and aim to conduct research and capture images from orbit. According to SpaceX, the entire crew is first-time space travelers.no human has ever witnessed Earth from a polar orbit—one directly over the North and South Poles. Unlike crewed spacecraft, satellites designed for espionage, weather monitoring, and commercial imaging prefer these orbits as they allow complete global coverage.
