An analysis reveals that SpaceX's political action committee (PAC) has donated thousands of dollars to candidates in the New Jersey gubernatorial race, including both Democrats and Republicans. The donations have sparked discussions about the influence of Elon Musk's aerospace firm in state politics.
There’s also a political fundraising committee from Musk’s aerospace firm that has given thousands to other candidates from both parties — including two of the top Democrats now running for New Jersey governor, an NJ Advance Media analysis found.and political action committees supporting her received about $31,500 from SpaceX’s corporate PAC as Sherrill ran to keep her seat in Congress from 2019 to 2024,The PAC donated $2.9 million to U.S.
The Gottheimer donation and the last one Sherrill that received from Space X’s committee — $5,000 in September — came after Musk emerged asNone of Jersey’s other gubernatorial contenders from either party have received money from SpaceX’s PAC, which is focused solely on federal elections. Sherrill and Gottheimer are the only federal officials in the race.
