A European telescope has blasted off from Florida into space to explore the dark universe.
Attached to a SpaceX rocket, it was tracked by a team from Western Australia and is being sent 1.5 million kilometres away.
It will take a month to reach its destination with the telescope’s 3D map of the cosmos to cover both space and time and attempt to give insights into the dark energy and matter that make up most of the universe.
