Watch live: SpaceX seek to launch its Starship rocket system, after the first attempt was postponed on Monday 🚀
Scenes from southern TexasIf all goes as planned for the next launch, all 33 Raptor engines will ignite simultaneously to loft the Starship on a flight most of the way around the Earth.
"Perhaps inevitable," Musk tweeted when his company first suggested the launch would be moved to today. The problem was caused by a frozen valve needed to load pressurised fuel into the Super Heavy booster that will carry the shiny, winged and intentionally sci-fi-looking Starship into space for its maiden orbital voyage.
Fuelling is under way for both Starship's upper stage and the Super Heavy booster, which sits on top of the rocket.Once up and running, Starship will be used for taking satellites into orbit - and SpaceX founder Elon Musk has said it will eventually carry astronauts to the moon and even Mars.SpaceX is aiming to complete the first orbital launch test of Starship, the biggest and most powerful rocket system ever built. The 62-minute launch window opens at 8.28am local time .
The prototype rocket booster carrying it - dubbed Super Heavy - will be discarded into the Gulf of Mexico. The countdown to launch was ultimately stopped with just 40 seconds to go after a valve on the Starship rocket was found to be frozen.Hello again - welcome back to our live coverage of SpaceX's Starship launch
