The mission passed its Flight Readiness Review, the final major hurdle before lift-off, on Friday.

"These are different times, but it is also a time when we need to be doing amazing things as a nation and inspiring the entire world and that’s what we’re doing," Bridenstein said. A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is seen as it is raised into a vertical position on the launch pad at Launch Complex 39A as preparations continue for the Demo-2 mission, May 21, 2020, at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.SpaceX and Boeing have been competing to be the first to launch NASA astronauts to the ISS.
