To ring in the Lunar New Year, chef Kristina Cho, the creative mind behind the food blog 'Eat Cho Food,' shares her recipes for longevity noodles and prosperity cupcakes.

This crisp is built around two dessert standbys: apple and caramel sauce. Wherever you are, no matter what time of year it is, you can usually find decent apples. And once you learn to make caramel sauce from scratch, you’ll realize that the process is amazingly simple, easy to remember and adaptable. Combining the two creates a dessert that at first tastes familiar and traditional — until you notice the salty, earthy undertones courtesy of the splash of soy sauce in the caramel.

Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the butter cubes . Stir until the butter is melted and incorporated completely. Stir in the cream until combined, then stir in the soy sauce. When everything is incorporated and the sauce is smooth, remove from the heat and all it to cool to room temperature. In a medium bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, and five spice. Add the cold butter, rubbing it into the oat mixture with your fingertips to form crumbs.Preheat the oven to 350 F .
