Soweto festive soccer tournament closes door on fans, but vaccinated teams may play

Initially, only vaccinated spectators were going to be permitted inside the host venue, the Nike Shapa Soweto .

Head of Vitality Wellness at Discovery Vitality, Mosima Mabunda, said in a statement released on Friday: “This tournament is the very essence of Discovery’s purpose of being a force for social good and so whilst we are cognisant, cautious and respectful of the infection increase, we are also aware of the impact that a tournament such as this one has on the lives of so many.”
