The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is affecting the country on Sunday and will bring rains, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and the northern portion of Palawan will have monsoon rains, with the possibility of flooding or landslides due to scattered to widespread rains.
Metro Manila, Western Visayas, La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, and the rest of Mimaropa may expect occasional rains due to the Habagat. Scattered to widespread rains may also cause flooding or landslides. The rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the monsoon. Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Meanwhile, Mindanao and the rest of Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon and localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods may possibly result.At 3 a.m. on Sunday, Talim was estimated to be located at 390 km west of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, packing maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h near the center with gustiness of up to 105 km/h. Talim is moving west northwestward at 20 km/h.
Coastal waters will be moderate to rough in the seaboards of Luzon and the western section of Visayas.Sunrise was at 5:35 a.m. while sunset will be at 6:29 p.m.
