Isaiah Wilson, a senior at Southwest High School, won a brand-new vehicle after being selected during Southwest ISD’s second Senior Walk Festival and Car Giveaway of the year, according to a release from Southwest High School. The event was held May 12, 2026, in San Antonio. Wilson was one of 12 students from Southwest High School and CAST STEM High School who qualified for the drawing by meeting the district’s attendance requirements.
The giveaway is supported through Southwest ISD’s partnership with North Park Toyota of San Antonio, which the district says has donated vehicles to reward students for attendance. The release says North Park Toyota has donated 30 cars to Southwest ISD to date. The event also recognized younger students for attendance.
Thirty-eight elementary and middle school students from campuses across the Southwest High School and CAST STEM feeder patterns received brand-new bicycles through the district’s Perfect Attendance Bike Giveaway, sponsored by the Southwest Education Foundation. Students qualified by maintaining perfect attendance from the start of the school year through April 2, 2026. The district’s latest giveaway follows last week’s Senior Walk Festival at Southwest Legacy High School, where senior Robert Dillard won a brand-new Toyota Corolla.
Southwest ISD leaders said the annual celebration is meant to highlight the importance of showing up every day and to recognize students who demonstrate commitment throughout the school year. The district said it hopes the attendance celebrations across grade levels will encourage students to stay engaged and keep working toward future goals. Many Americans may still be owed an IRS refund from back when the COVID-19 pandemic was in full swing.
