The air carrier on Thursday expected to unveil what it calls its "Even Better" transformational plan in conjunction with an investor day briefing.
Sales for assigned seats are expected to begin in the second half of 2025, and the first flights with the new model will operate in the first half of 2026, according to the company. "We're now ushering in a new era at Southwest, moving swiftly and deliberately to transform the Company by elevating the Customer Experience, improving financial performance, and driving sustainable Shareholder value," President and CEO Bob Jordan said in a statement.Southwest said it will keep its "bags fly free" policy, calling it the most important feature to set the airline apart from its competitors.
