Temperatures will be in the upper 90s to near 100 degrees again today, but a few isolated thunderstorms will be possible, too.
This week, the main weather story in South Texas will be the consistent extreme heat — and rightfully so, because high temperatures will be in the upper 90s and low 100s every day, and heat index values, or “feels like” temperatures that factor in humidity, will be close to 110 degrees for many. While the heat is the main threat, thunderstorms will be a smaller threat across South Texas on Wednesday. Storms likely will be extremely isolated, meaning the majority of areas will stay dry.
This is a complicated forecast, however, because if the outflow boundaries don’t develop or move as expected, storms may fail to materialize. Hot temperatures continue Whether South Texas gets any storms or not, it’s going to be another brutally hot day. The early morning will be the “coolest” part of the day, but temperatures will still be very warm, with lows only falling to the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Mostly cloudy skies will give way to partly sunny skies by the middle of the day.
