Prior to his role at the South Sound YMCA, he served as President and CEO of the Olympic Peninsula YMCA, where he successfully revitalized the Sequim Area Aquatic Center into a full-fledged YMCA branch. Upon joining the South Sound YMCA, Cronk spearheaded a community fundraising effort that raised over $13 million in just over a year to construct the Shelton Family YMCA, a facility that now serves approximately 8,000 residents.
Anthony Brock, Chair of the South Sound YMCA Board of Trustees, praised Cronk's legacy, stating that under his guidance, being an anti-racist and multicultural organization became central to the YMCA's identity, fostering a community where learning together enhances the ability to serve all people. The South Sound YMCA has initiated a nationwide search for Cronk's successor, with Cronk himself heading the search committee, aiming to announce the new leader by January.
