The South Salt Lake Council voted unanimously to censure Councilman Paul Sanchez for his social media posts critical of the city and its politicians.

The South Salt Lake City Council on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, unanimously voted to censure member Paul Sanchez over code of conduct violations in response to multiple social media posts critical of the city and its elected and appointed leaders. The South Salt Lake Council voted unanimously to censure Councilman Paul Sanchez for violating the council's newly adopted code of conduct during a closed meeting.

During the session, all six council members unanimously voted to censure Sanchez, implementing a series of sanctions. Councilmembers announced the following measures: On his personal profiles, he opines at length in posts critical of the city's elected and appointed leaders."If I see elected officials taking advantage of their political position and their influence, to use taxpayer dollars that are not in the interest of the taxpayers, I'm going to call it out," he told 2News, saying he's called out other cities and the state as well.
