South Jersey residents are advised to prepare for a winter storm this weekend and Monday, with up to a few inches of snow expected. Slippery road conditions are also anticipated.

Parts of South Jersey could get 1 to 2 inches of snow late Friday into early Saturday morning, followed by several inches of additional snow from a different storm on Monday, according to weather forecasters. Roads could become slippery Friday afternoon and Friday night, thanks to a weak storm system that’s expected to drop a light amount of snow.

The weather service has issued winter weather advisories in six counties — Atlantic, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem — effective from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday. “The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute,” the weather service noted. The light snow will be followed by a blast of Arctic air this weekend, with daytime temperatures stuck in the low 30s and overnight lows dropping into the low 20s — and gusty winds making it feel even colder. A large winter storm system could bring as much as 3 to 6 inches of snow to the South Jersey region Monday, according to forecasters from AccuWeather.
