Equine therapy incorporates horses into the therapeutic process, to help with emotional growth.
An animal lover has opened an equine therapy centre in East Sussex to help people manage their emotions.
Psychotherapist Claudia Nicholson has opened the centre to the public at Downmere Farm, near Brighton.The new centre at Downmere Farm includes three ponies, two horses and two miniature donkeys.Ms Nicholson said the therapy had become increasingly popular with teenagers and their parents as it provided a safe space that was quiet and calm.
"For children that may be feeling isolated or having friendship issues, they're a fantastic therapist," she explained. Ms Nicholson said she benefited from being around horses as a child and wanted to share the benefits with others.
