The U.S. is looking at the cease-fire proposal that was allegedly accepted by terrorist group, Hamas, to end war with Israel.A police chase left an officer injured and the suspect with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Mt. Sterling on Monday.
According to a statement from Ross County Sheriff George Lavender, "at the conclusion of the pursuit the male subject suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound." That statement did not identify the male, nor did it indicate if he survived the gunshot. The incident began at about 10 a.m. when a 911 call indicated that that male subject had "forced entry into the home of a female acquaintance and threatened the woman and another man with a firearm," according to the statement. "The male subject and the woman got into a physical altercation before the male left the residence and got into a vehicle. The male then fired rounds toward the house, one of which struck a car in the driveway.
The statement said that South Bloomfield police, as well as the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol joined the pursuit of the suspect, which eventually traveled into Madison County. That's where the South Bloomfield police officer was struck by a tractor trailer, at the intersection of London and Main streets in downtown Mt. Sterling, at about 11 a.m.
