South Africans are using social media to share details on how to make donations following floods in the country.

Search and rescue operations combed the debris for those who might be trapped underneath.JOHANNESBURG - South African social media users are mobilising support for hundreds of people who have been affected by floods in KwaZulu-Natal and in the Eastern Cape.

Details on how people can make donations for goods and money for the families most affected by the floods have been circulating on social media since Monday.More than 50 people have died from floods and mudslides that crushed homes in KwaZulu-Natal, while hundreds of people have been evacuated from flooded areas in Port St Johns.

Several celebrities, including AKA, Prince Kaybee and Rami Chuene have shown their support and called for solidarity for the victims of the flood.
