Brad Binder, a South African MotoGP rider, secured second place at the season-opening race in Qatar. Despite a crash in the Sprint race, Binder managed to secure fourth place in the main race with the help of other riders. He expressed excitement about the track and his goal for the weekend is to find a good rhythm and pace.

Image: Gold & Goose / Red Bull Content PoolBinder has just about kept pace with the elite of the racing series so far this term.His crash in the Sprint race at Portimao cost him but ultimately a slice of luck in the main race meant that Binder left with fourth place.“It’s exciting to get started here again,” Binder said. “This track is super special and has a little bit of everything.
“It’s important because it’s a long lap, so try to do as many laps as possible, find a good rhythm, good pace and that’s my goal going into the weekend.“But at the end of the day I crashed in the sprint before coming fourth in the main race thanks to a lot of help in front of me. “I’m really keen to give it another go here and the progress we made from 22 to 23, here, was huge. I expect that again this weekend.”When asked which race he has enjoyed the most, Binder said it had to beHowever, he remains focused on building with this team and doing the hard work to put in a title challenge.
“For me, definitely yes! I would say Qatar for sure. I had my struggles in Portimao but I think that coming here is a fresh start again. “It’s clear that we have made a good step forward. I think our bike and the direction we have gone in is going to be much better at this track compared to last season.“One thing I have seen in the last three races is that we really work on the finer details. That’s my goal!”The South African rider has made his best ever start to aBinder is the only non-Ducati rider in the top four of the MotoGP championship.
