South Africa's Tourism Minister De Lille and her Deputy visited tourist destinations in Gauteng , including Vilakazi Street, to encourage both local and international travelers to explore the region and the country's diverse offerings. While Gauteng is known as South Africa's economic hub, it also provides vacation opportunities. Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero urged all South Africans to visit the City of Gold this festive season and experience the wide range of attractions.
He highlighted the Johannesburg Zoo and its festive lights festival, which features daily evening music performances. Meanwhile, beneficiaries of the Department of Tourism's activation plan shared their gratitude for the opportunities provided. Kagiso Kekana, a 28-year-old from Hamanskraal, said his participation in the program led to permanent employment at the Dinokeng Game Reserve. He expressed that the program opened doors and presented new perspectives on tourism, particularly for young people in rural areas
