South Africa Opposition Leader Offers Little Beyond Scare Tactics SouthAfrica

John Steenhuisen of the Democratic Alliance, who has been re-elected leader of the opposition party, has vowed to put a stop to a potential partnership between the African National Congress and the Economic Freedom Fighters , in what he termed a 'doomsday coalition", from taking over the country.

Steenhuisen also unveiled plans for a"Moonshot Pact" where his party will cooperate with other opposition parties in focused efforts to keep the ANC out of power. Steenhuisen will retain his position for the next four years in which he aims to unseat the ANC in the 2024 elections.Daily Maverick, 2 April 2023
