Leeds United are set to be paid an instalment of over £20million by Barcelona this season as part of Raphinha’s transfer fee,The 26-year-old Brazilian winger was sold by the Yorkshire club in the 2022 summer transfer window – 15 months ago.
However, the structure of the deal means that the Catalan side amortised the fee over multiple years. It is understood that Leeds are set to be paid a £21million instalment before the start of the January transfer window. The eight-figure instalment is still not the final payment scheduled from Barcelona for Raphinha, meaning Leeds are still set for future payouts in the long term.that funds are available to manager Daniel Farke in January to bring in new signings and improve the club’s first-team squad.
However, the cash injection may also be used by Leeds to pay off their own debts, with their 2021/22 accounts revealing that they owed
