The AeroFit 2 Pro wireless earbuds can shapeshift into open-ear and ANC modes.
are great, but having to choose between the benefits of open audio and noise cancellation kind of sucks. And carrying around two pairs of earbuds all the time? Not much better. That’s exactly why Soundcore is here to say, “Why not both?”, Soundcore unveiled its AeroFit 2 Pro, which is the first pair of wireless earbuds that can switch between open-ear and active noise cancellation “modes,” as Soundcore calls them, allowing wearers to use the earbuds in a wider range of scenarios.
Enabling the AeroFit 2 Pro’s dual-use setup is what Soundcore is calling a “five-level adjustable ear hook” that can be moved to sit just outside the ear for open audio or create a seal for when you want to use ANC. Soundcore says the AeroFit 2 Pro can also automatically sense whether the wireless earbuds are in their open-ear mode or the ANC mode and calibrate the EQ accordingly.I’m not going to lie, the ability to have both features in one product sounds great, but I do have some questions. First of all, Soundcore calls the ANC mode “semi-in-ear,” adding that it has a “shallower” fit meant to optimize comfort. Although it’s hard to say without using the AeroFit 2 Pro myself, it sounds like the ANC mode might not provide as tight of a seal as other more traditional wireless earbuds. That being said, if they can achieve a comparable degree of noise cancellation as traditional earbuds, Soundcore might really be onto something. Outside of the dual-form selling point, the AeroFit 2 Pro look like a decent pair of wireless earbuds on paper, featuring an 11.8mm dynamic driver, spatial audio, and LDAC support for hi-res audio in addition to standard Bluetooth. The AerioFit 2 Pro will be available on Jan. 6 via Soundcore.com for $179.99. Thewill be available in four colors: black, matte purple, gloss white, and gloss blue, but only black is available at launch, with the rest of the colors coming soon.
