The SNP administration is failing its weakest in society.
If that’s the case, Glasgow is failing – and miserably so. At the weekend I found myself in a horrible situation of waiting in A&E with a relative for eight hours.
When it’s your mother, your child or your friend gasping for breath, waiting for eight hours, it’s not just an inconvenience, it’s a potential death sentence. Behind every number, every statistic, is a story – a person who had dreams, aspirations – and a family left in tatters. These aren’t just numbers, they are glaring, neon signs of our city’s failure to care for its residents. We can do better, Glasgow. We have to. But we have to do it sensibly and within the scope of what we as city councillors can do.
