But beyond the world of privilege and celebrity, Coronavirus is a whistleblower, ready to spill the tea on the uncomfortable truths about the way we all live. Whilst muddling through these unprecedented times had no doubt brought many of us together, what we are also united in now, is our awareness - not just of the most vulnerable in society- but the most vital and overlooked.
For every instagram post about letting old people have access to supermarket shelves, there will be hundreds of us who pass by lonely old people everyday without a second glance. We are now constantly talking about the undefended members of our society but most of us have never stopped to consider that these people need our help all the time, not just now. These inequalities and vulnerabilities pre-date Covid-19, they are not just a direct consequence of them. Will this outlast the virus?.
