Sir Martin Sorrell's construction of a second global marketing services empire will take another step forward this week with the merger of its programmatic media arm with a leading Latin American peer

Programmatic tools deployed in marketing campaigns by consultancies such as Digodat are increasingly in demand as companies shape personalised communications campaigns.

It did, however, say that it expected to deliver"sector-leading double-digit like-for-like revenue and gross profit growth for 2020". Since leaving WPP Group, which he effectively founded during the 1980s, Sir Martin has been a staunch critic of the company, wasting few opportunities to take public potshots at his successor, Mark Read.

A threat by WPP to withhold part of Sir Martin's long-term compensation on the grounds that he had breached confidentiality obligations has since dissipated, however.
