CINCINNATI - Jessica Hause and Megan Schultz are sorority sisters, friends, and now bonded together forever.
Hause was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease in September 2023 and was eagerly waiting for a kidney so she could live a healthy life. She relied on dialysis for months, needing to go to the hospital every week for multiple hours.Megan Schultz is Jessica's college friend from OSU, sorority sister, and now her hero. She saw Hause's post about her need for a kidney and without hesitation wanted to help.and it tugged at the hearts of thousands of people online.
"A weight is lifted. Megan saved my life. I wouldn't be here, I'd be in dialysis if it weren't for Megan." Flash forward six months and Hause received the best Christmas gift she could ever ask for. The two underwent the kidney surgery at Christ Hospital. Schultz says Hause and her family are now her family, connected to one another forever.The two friends are now encouraging others to consider being a donor so they can give the gift of life to someone in need.
"The kidney donor community is incredible. If you're hesitant, reach out to anyone who donated and listen to their story," said Schultz."I love you so much and can't wait to see where your life goes and where you go. I can't wait to be a part of it."
