Belgium is getting a new prime minister
Budget Minister Wilmès will succeed Charles Michel, a fellow member of Francophone liberal party Mouvement Réformateur .
Michel announced on Friday that he wanted to end his time at the head of the Belgian government in early November at the latest to prepare for his new job as president of the European Council, which starts on December 1. Senior members of the Belgian caretaker government decided on Saturday that Wilmès should take over as PM. She will be the first woman to hold the post.
