Sony reveals new and improved VR headset, here's a look at some of the features:
The lens fog vent in particular is something that Sony seems particularly proud of, solving a common VR problem. Here’s Senior Art Director Yujin Morisawa:
“When I started to work on the design for the PlayStation VR2 headset, one of the areas I wanted to focus on first was the idea of creating a vent in the headset to let air out, similar to the vents on the PS5 console that allows airflow. Our engineers came up with this idea as a good way to allow ventilation and avoid having the lens fog up while players are immersed in their VR games.
The headset will have 4K HDR and haptic feedback in the headset itself. It connects to PlayStation with a single cord, which is not a shock, given that it seemed unlikely Sony would build a headset that wasconnected to PS5. As a result, that should give it some advantages over headsets like the Oculus Quest.
