Sony has announced that they are releasing their own line of custom PS5 covers

The Nova Pink, Galactic Purple, and Starlight Blue PS5 console covers will launch in those same locations some time in the first half of 2022.

Like all things PS5, these are probably going to sell out pretty quickly. Sony says there will be early access to these for customers at that link. This is just for the US, UK and Germany, and this comes with its own set of dates:January 21 – The Midnight Black and Cosmic Red console covers will be available .

I have no idea why these are all broken up so weirdly, but I would just stay tuned to PlayStation’s social channels where hopefully they will be posting about these dates when they get closer for each of the colors and products. It already sounds like it might be kind of a nightmare to secure them, but I guess hey, since so many people still don’t have PS5s, that’s less people to compete against for these console covers.

These are supposed to be easy to install, you just unsnap the current cover and snap in the new one. It’s an interesting change from past generations, as usually to get an entirely new colored console, you have to buy a fully new one, or at the very least, use some elaborate decal system. But here, Sony build these to be swapped out pretty easily. Though my money is on a PS5 Plus launching in a few years in base black all the same. Anyway, good luck getting these, you’ll need it.
