Sons of The Forest sold 2 million copies in its first 24 hours of early access.
“Sent to find a missing billionaire on a remote island, you find yourself in a cannibal-infested hellscape. Craft, build, and struggle to survive, alone or with friends, in this terrifying new open-world survival horror simulator,” reads an official description for the game.
The game is planned to be in early access for around 6 to 8 months, but according to the developers “This could change.” “We will leave Early Access when we are certain this is the best version of the game possible,” reads a message on the Steam page. The developer’s previous game, The Forest, is still massively popular and grew a following due to being featured by popular streamers and YouTube content creators.
