Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has a difficult challenge ahead of it if it wants to surpass its predecessors' audience scores. While the previous two Sonic the Hedgehog movies have not necessarily been hits with critics, audiences have loved them. The first Sonic movie has an audience score of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, whereas Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has 96%.
