Hawthorn will unveil Calsher Dear, the son of late premiership hero Paul Dear, in its clash against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday.
The 18-year-old key forward will play his first AFL game after he was taken as a father-son selection with pick 56 in last year’s draft.
Hawthorn premiership hero Paul Dear flies for a mark with Dermott Brereton in the 1991 grand final between Hawthorn and West Coast. Dear’s son Calsher will debut on Sunday for the Hawks against the Western Bulldogs.This weekend Calsher gets to experience this wonderful emotion as he pulls on the brown and gold for the first time just as his father, Paul did in 1987,” McCartney said.
“Calsher has strung together some impressive games for Box Hill in the first five games of the season, displaying his unique aerial skills in attack, while consistently hitting the scoreboard.
