Blaise A. Taylor, the son of former Auburn Tigers assistant head coach and wide receivers coach Trooper Taylor, has been indicted on two counts of first-degree murder.

Taylor, the son of former Auburn Tigers assistant head coach and wide receivers coach Trooper Taylor, has been indicted on two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of his girlfriend and her unborn child, according to media andDeputy United States Marshals arrested Taylor, 27, in Utah Thursday night at the request of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
Jade Benning was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by ambulance on the night of Feb. 25, 2023, after Taylor called 911, according to police. She appeared to be having an allergic reaction and asked for paramedics. The woman’s medical condition immediately became critical, police said. Benning’s unborn child died on Feb 27, 2023. Police were never able to interview Benning before her own death on March 6, 2023, her 25th birthday.
Nashville police said months of investigation, which involved scientists from crime laboratories and doctors from the Medical Examiner’s Office, led to Wednesday’s return of a murder indictment against Taylor, who is alleged to have poisoned Benning without her knowledge while visiting her apartment the night she was rushed to the hospital.
