Son of Buc-ee's co-founder indicted on 21 counts of invasive recording for allegedly secretly filming 13 victims over 2 years at Texas home. A Travis County grand jury returned six separate indictments last month charging 28-year-old Mitchell Wasek, the son of a co-founder of Texas-based gas station chain Buc-ee's, with 21 counts of invasive visual recording.

According to the Travis County District Attorney’s Office, the charges pertain to 13 separate victims who were allegedly secretly recorded by Wasek over the course of two years. “The Travis County District Attorney’s Office takes the work of presenting all facts and evidence to a grand jury very seriously,” said Travis County District Attorney José Garza. “In this case, a group of independent Travis County community members heard the evidence and law and decided that Mr. Wasek's conduct was unlawful.”CBS Austin obtained in October of last year, the investigation started when guests at Wasek’s family lake house discovered a hidden camera in May 2023.

The camera allegedly contained a memory card loaded with dozens of videos capturing people in various states of undress in bedrooms and bathrooms.
