A suspected murder-suicide in West Valley City left three people dead, including the suspect, who was shot by police after allegedly killing his parents.
Three people are dead after police responded to a 911 call at a West Valley City residence, including a suspect who was shot by police after allegedly killing his parents. Officers responded to a home in the area of 3300 West and Enterado Avenue around 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, where they discovered the bodies of two adults inside, identified by police as a married couple who lived at the residence. During the response, authorities encountered their adult son, who also lived at the address.
He was identified as a suspect in their deaths. Details about the events leading up to the shooting, including whether the suspect had a weapon or threatened police, were not immediately released. Two women who said the couple were their step parents said they had asked for a welfare check on the couple days earlier. “I kinda felt like something was going to happen, I sent the cops over here for a welfare check four days ago because I knew he would keep taking their phones, and it wasn’t them that was answering me,' Chasity Ulibarri said.The investigation has been turned over to the Salt Lake City Police Department per officer-involved critical incident protocol
