South African media personality Somizi Mhlongo praised 'superstar in the making' Zee Nxumalo in an appreciation post. They first met on the set of the Roast of Pearl Thusi and continued to cross paths on gigs in December. 'Dedication post. Got to meet this dynamite at the roast of Pearl Thusi. It was love at first laughter. Then we kept on crossing paths during the December gigs across the country. And each time it’s just pure excitement,' he wrote.
'Anyone who knows me (would) know how much I love seeing a new talent growing. And I can tell (you) we have a super star in the making here. Very sweet. Kind. Respectful. Etc. @zeenxumalo_ the world is yo oyster nana,' he continued. Nxumalo previously expressed that the fame did not quite sink in as yet, in an interview in June 2024
