Despite the General Election not taking place until November 5th, some voters in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, decided to cast their ballots early on Tuesday. They cited convenience and a desire to participate in the democratic process as reasons for their decision.

CLEVELAND, Ohio - There is less than a month until the General Election on November 5th. However, some voters say they didn’t want to wait that long. They decided to show up on Tuesday to the Cuyahoga County Board of Election s to weigh in on the presidential race.She came out early to vote on Tuesday because she didn’t ant to miss her opportunity to cast her ballot.

“You know for people who work during the week it is hard sometimes to get the time off to vote. So, I had the opportunity to do it today, so I wanted to be a part of it,” says Kelley-Crosby.“I just wanted it to be known that we are a country that believes in democracy,” says Nickens. Even though there were a lot of people showed up to the polls and lines were long, most voters said things moved quick.“Cuyahoga County board of elections runs like a well oiled machine,” says Kelley-Crosby.For people who are voting by mail or absentee, ballots were sent out on October 8th. The deadline to turn them in is October 29th.
