Some Northeast Florida poll locations have changed for the 2024 Primary
“It is a very exciting time,” Jerry Holland, Supervisor of Elections for Duval County said. “You know for us it’s about preparation about being ready. Our people are excited but there is a lot of anticipation.”
In Duval County, there are over 630,000 registered voters, and in the primary, about 75,000 are expected to vote. Preparation began months ago.Homeland Security held a meeting with Florida’s SOEs, warning them of false information being sent to voters to confuse or mislead them on election day.
“Well first of all if you get a phone call or something that has my voice or I am talking to you or something where you say, ‘well thats different than what we normally do,’ it could be A.I. You need to call our office at 255-VOTE and verify if something seems different,” Holland said.“Our biggest goal and the first challenge is making sure every polling location opens on time at 7 a.m.,” said Holland.
