Damage wasn’t the issue for most grocery retailers, but extended power outages are forcing some stores to open later.
Four Tom Thumb stores are closed temporarily and trying to open “as soon as possible,” said Christy Lara, spokeswoman for Tom Thumb and Albertsons.The Tom Thumb stores with delayed openings are in Snider Plaza and Inwood Road in Dallas, in Keller, and on Park Row in Arlington.“Over the past 24 hours, we have had several stores impacted by the loss of power and subsequently, refrigeration,” Lara said.
Kroger spokesman John Votava said Kroger stores have experienced power outages this morning and most are operating on backup generators.Click here, Staff writer.
