Some 2021-2022 Ford Broncos Have Airbags That Could Deploy Incorrectly | Carscoops carscoops
has discovered that impacted Bronco models may have a right-hand and/or left-hand side impact sensor that is not properly secured to the vehicle. The recall notice states that an unsecured sensor may not properly detect certain side impact events. This could cause the affected airbags to unintentionally deploy or not deploy when intended, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.
Dealers were notified of the recall on December 15 and owners of affected vehicles will be notified by mail between January 23, 2023, and January 27, 2023. They will be instructed to bring their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealership where the side impact sensor attachments will be inspected and repaired as required, free of charge. Ford will also reimburse owners who have paid for the issue to be fixed prior to the recall being issued.
