Solon City Council has amended a chapter of the city’s streets, utilities and public services code regarding snow removal services for senior citizens and disabled residents.
Solon Mayor Ed Kraus reminds residents at the City Council meeting Monday that the city will host its second annual Pride Day event from 1-5 p.m. June 30 at the Solon Community Center. SOLON , Ohio – City Council has amended a chapter of the city’s streets, utilities and public services code regarding snow removal services for senior citizens and disabled residents.
Adult residents who are classified as physically, medically or mentally handicapped, under the guidelines of the Social Security Administration, also qualify for the services. The snow removal contractor – instead of the applicant – will indicate the location of the designated area that will be plowed through the use of driveway markers, which shall be visible from the cab of a snowplow vehicle.Jill Frankel, the city’s director of senior services, said in a memo to council that the city has been providing snow plowing services to residents who are 65 or older, as well as adults with disabilities under the guidelines of Social Security Administration, since 1999.
