Woo Young Mi was taking her guests on a journey, that much was clear. As they arrived inside the gritty garage space near République, a procession of golf buggies awaited to take them to the top floor of the venue. There, she showed a collection inspired by the great outdoors, veering away from Solid Homme’s distinctly urban aesthetic of recent seasons.
Her vision of hiking gear — complete with branded walking poles thanks to a collaboration with compatriot South Korean brand Kolon Sport — skewed to a bright, fruity color palette and eclectic, surprising plays on layering. Like a self-assumed sporting goods brand, the line-up was peppered with branded logos that were new terrain for the label.
Fitted technical shorts were styled under wide bermudas, while colorful crochet vests, floral-print hoodies and boxy denim pieces were interspersed with contrasting touches of tweed and jacquard in pale blue and white. These added a luxe twist that juxtaposed with the manufactured utilitarian vibe of the core of the collection.
